YAYYYY!!!

YAYYYY!!!

It’s true folks all 6 Professor Layton games by Level 5 are coming to the U.S. and Europe!! That is the 3 games currently out right now in Japan (Curious Village, Devil’s Box, and Final Time Journey) and the 3 in development. The 4th game is “Professor Layton and the Devil’s Flute” which is actually a predecessor and is set before Curious Village. This is great news because I love the Layton series, it challenges your thinking ability yet when you can’t think of it and you see the answer it’s one of those “Oooooohhhhh, goddamn that’s so simple!”. Another great gem by Level 5.

The 2nd Professor Layton game is named “Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (subject to change me thinks)” for the rest of us.

Towards the end of February/ beginning of March I was just browsing around on ebay to see if I could buy some cheap Aria art books (I did buy one but that didn’t come in yet so nothing to write about). While I was at it I also browsed for some Type-Moon stuff and man what a browse that turned out to be! I snagged myself a Type-Moon 2009 calendar and Tsukihime Art book”Dokuhon Plus Period”. The calendar was $22.99 after shipping and the art book was $22.75 after shipping , the art book price was also being sold at 70% off (I have no idea why) so I clicked immediately. All in all paying $45.74 is a steal especially considering how hard it is to find these items; the calendar being sought after and new, the art book because it’s out of print and hard to get.
So enough about how much of a Type-Moon fag I am here’s some pics, I don’t have a scanner and they are kind of a large file size because I left my camera at home so I had to use my friends camera. Oh well, better resolution is better right?

I just love the look of Saber Lily, refined and pleasing yet kick ass at the same time.

It’s that time of the year again comrades, time for Spring!! Haru, the season of meetings…and new anime!!
Once again I have that lovely collage of pictures for you all.
Spring2009

I am pretty sure that is the complete list, if not I’ll ask around and get the complete one. It’s gonna be tough getting some new animes into my watch list cause I haven’t even gotten halfway through some of the stuff from the winter season due to my schedule. However since I’ve been on Spring Break I’ve been watching Berserk (I know, hello 90s!) and Dennou Coil.

There’s a lot of interesting stuff here, some more than others.
Definitely watching:
Senjou no Valkyria – woooo one of my favorite games from last year has an anime!
Ristorante Paradiso – looks like a very interesting slice of life, and it has food.
Natsu no Arashi – Slice of life + creator of School Rumble
Hayate 2 – YES, it’s full of win
K- ON – more KyoAni stuff, expect to see figs because of their strong marketing lol

Guilty pleasure:
Queens Blade – yup…

Maybe:
Sengoku Basara
Pandora Hearts
Saki – Moe + Mahjong = hmmmmm
Hatsukoi Gentei – Yuri?
Tears to Tiara
Hanasekeru Seishounen – only if the female lead is strong
FMA2
Higepyo

OVA wise:
Hayate 2 OVA – more win
Tsuabasa Shunraiki
xxxHolic Shunmuki
To Heart 2 adplus – yay more Tama-nee and other To Heart 2 characters!!
Spice and Wolf 2 – this makes economics fun
DOGS/BULLETS & CARNAGE – this one looks very interesting, especially the name

Wish there was a Kannagi 2 or Haruhi 2 T_T. But there’s a lot of new stuff for the Spring, some look very enticing but I have to choose the ones I watch carefully cause I don’t have that much time. In the summer however I’ll see if I can watch more, also if other blogs/friends recommend something that’s not on this list.

Enjoy looking at the list and now it’s back to playing Street Fighter 4/Fire Emblem for DS.

Megacon came and went, and now it’s time for a post. I haven’t posted in a long while, so I’ll make this a big ‘un. Curryninja’s post on Megacon made me decide I should make one, too.

Megacon, the pinnacle of anime related events for me during the year. It was good this year, but not the best it could’ve been. I’ve noticed a disturbing trend which has been causing this decay; the lack of diversification.

In years past at Megacon, I could find semi-obscure things here and there thoughout the convention.  Items from Mushishi, Kino no Tabi, and other series when they were still just being released in Japan. This year I did find some Spice and Wolf and Aria items, but nothing past that. It seems that slowly but surely, all other anime that isn’t Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, FMA, One Piece, or (now) Soul Eater is being phased out. This really has been putting a damper on it all for me.  I mean, I still do find lesser known things, just not in the quantity I once did.

This has also been accompanied with a more annoying fanbase every year. Before, the Naruto and FFVII cosplayers were expected in great number. But they weren’t super annoying, just everywhere. Now, the new thing is “free hugs,” “you lost the game,” and dressing up like a retard. It’s a very rage inducing thing to behold, and I don’t see it getting any better anytime soon. It’s hard to say how annoying they are, you have to experience it.

But, despite these bitchings, I had a lot of fun. Sunday I was a bit hung-over, but enjoyed it nonetheless. It was good to go with some friends and an almost-but-not-really-but-I’m-trying-girlfriend.  A speeding ticket nailed my money supply for buying loot. But I still made out with some good booty. And here it be:

MMMM Doujinshis.....

MMMM Doujinshis.....

Phew Megacon is finally over with, 3 days of scouting the dealers room for good stuff was tiring but fun. I got a lot of stuff to show and I think I bought more than I should have (that means eating out less now, shame really). This con was more of a purchase of gashapons instead of large figs. I looked for really detailed gashapons and ones from my favorite series. Why not big figures? Mainly cause I have most of the ones I want on pre-order (such as Aozaki Toko).

So here we go with the stuff!
