Another rare post from me! Yay!
So Christmas is nearly upon us all ( and Hanukkah, Fesitvus, etc.). Which means: winter anime season soon! Yay!
Well, not so “yay” this season. It’s a pretty slow — and not very interesting — anime season. Barring any surprises (which does happen from time to time) there are only a couple anime that look to catch my interest.
The first is “Durarara!!” This gets some attention from me just because it is made by the same people who did “Baccano!!,” which was fantastic. It is described as a “distorted love story.” I have no idea what that means, but whatever. They could say it revolves around a ninja in an orange jumpsuit, and if it was by Brains Base I would watch it.
Now, the second anime that looks interesting is Katanagatari. The synopsis makes it seem somewhat interesting, if not a bit cliché (what anime isn’t?). But I’m interested partly because of the artwork. All the pictures from it make it look pretty neat.
Aside from the usual suspects like Hidamari Sketch and Nodame Cantabile, that’s pretty much it for this season. Lame, I know.
I haven’t read many books lately. School has been utterly raping any semblance of free time I once had. Between High-Speed Aerodynamics and Senior Design I barely had time to sleep.
Thankfully, that clusterfuck is over, and I got through my exams. Managed to pull out a decent GPA this semester (3.375 is good in my book). I know my-brother-from-another-mother, Curryninja, did okay on his exams, too. So all in all, not too bad.. you know except the lack of sleep for a solid week.
So, I hope everyone has a happy Christmas/Kwanza/Festivus/Hanukkah/yay-no-work this winter. So, avoid that Krampus and have a great winter.
On subject of Christmas: I know I’m making out with a new laptop. Thank god for Black Friday deals. I hope everyone else did as well as I did on that. Even managed to get my girlfriend a new video card for fairly cheap.
Tomorrow, however, I venture into Wal-Mart for further shopping. It’s a hellish realm, and I will need all the mental fortitude I can muster for the expedition. No seriously, that place sucks (unless you enjoy cheap consumer goods).
Happy Holidays!
